Fieldcrest Fine Arts Presents
a Bronze of a Scottish Golfer, circa 1870, said to be Young Tom Morris, Four-Time winner of the British Open at Prestwick, likely sculpted by Francis John Williamson (English, 1833-1920)
The Golfer’s costume of gaiters, flat hat and belted, pocketed jacket suggest the period prior to the introduction of golf knickers.
This rare 8 inch 19th Century English bronze has fine detail and distinctive texture.
