Meet Jon Foyt and Lois Foyt
Meet Jon Foyt and Lois Foyt
Not only did the Foyts share a love of fine art, but they also wrote novels together. Their literary website http://www.loisjonfoyt.com presents another view of this eclectic partnership.
Both are graduates of Stanford University where Jon studied communications and geography before entering the Graduate school of Business for his MBA degree, and where Lois returned in 1977 for her Bachelor of Arts degree.
Their career paths after Stanford include Jon’s active duty in Military Intelligence, electronics manufacturing, radio broadcasting, international banking, and real estate brokerage; and Lois’ in real estate development where she headed Real Estate Arts, Inc. in Palo Alto, California.
Later the couple relocated to Athens, Georgia, where Jon was accepted into the Historic Preservation master’s degree program at the University of Georgia, which, after completing the courses, inspired them to live and work in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where they hosted literary salons, sponsored book and film festivals, presented papers, gave readings and lectures, together with art buying sojourns to France; Italy; Switzerland; Greece; Ireland; the UK; Spain; Portugal; Hungary; Germany; and in the US to Upstate New York; Manhattan; the Coast of Maine; the French Quarter; La Jolla; Santa Monica; Santa Barbara; San Francisco; and Pass Christian, Mississippi.
Jon Foyt now makes his home in an active adult community near California’s wine country with close proximity to San Francisco and its international art resources.

A Philosophical Note from the Collector about Pricing:
Contrary to what is perhaps popular folklore as to the pricing of fine art, after some fifty years of collecting, I believe there is no final authority on pricing that one can refer to up there in the clouds or in the library or on the Internet. Collecting is a matter of enjoying the object, be it painting, sculpture or other artwork. The prices shown here are asking prices for which I am willing to part with the sculpture. You can decide if that is a value you wish to pay for your purchase. I am, however, open to discussion on each of the quoted prices, for as stated, I believe there is no absolute authority. Value is a personal matter with each of us. One more thing: Due to hefty medical bills, I am in an active selling mode, so offers are invited and welcomed. (Also please note that quoted prices are subject to the costs of packing, shipping from Walnut Creek, California and insurance.)
Sincerely yours, for enjoyable collecting,
Jon Foyt
